A mid-weight Classic Cordura fabric. Made from high tenacity nylon 6,6 Cordura yarn, this fabric is incredibly strong. Much lighter and with a finer weave than the 1000D equivalent, the 500D is still highly tear-resistant and abrasion resistant. Made even more water-resistant specifically for Crumpler.

This fabric has a hydrostatic head rating of 1,000 mm, meaning it can withstand water pressure equivalent to a column of water 1 metre high before water penetrates through the fabric, as determined through hydrostatic head testing.
